John is shown Mystery Babylon the Great Whore.

Before we enter into this chapter it is necessary to understand the origin of Mystery Babylon, the  mother of harlots, as well as the Mystery of the Church. Both of These are spoken of as Women in the scripture and They are in opposition One to the Other in character.(Revelation chapter 17)

As the Church is known by Her fruits of Righteousness, so also is the Woman, Mystery Babylon, known by Her fruits of evil. Both the Lord and Satan have been preparing to manifest Their powers in the Last Day.

The Lord to Perfection and Godly Righteousness, and Satan to Perfection in Satanic madness. Mystery Babylon shows the perfect mystery as the great mother of harlots, and the abomination of the earth. Satan has labored for 6,000 years to produce this satanic Woman.

She is the pride and joy of His efforts. She is a flesh and blood Woman, clothed with the demonic power of hatred for God and His righteousness. She is a thief and a murderer of souls. She leaves a trail of the Serpent of sin that was planted in the Garden of Eden, and was transmitted through Adam and Eve, and their first born, Cain, who was a murderer himself.

The generations of Cain came to an end with the coming of the flood, approximately 1650 years after the earthly creation. At that time, sin had overcome the whole earth, with the exception of Noah and His family, who was saved by the Ark. The earth was again cleansed and repopulated through Noah's unworthy son, Ham.

Ham followed in the footsteps of Cain and begat Cush, and Cush begat Nimrod. Nimrod became a great man on earth, a great hunter and organizer. Nimrod married a woman who set herself up as a Princess. She was a worshipper of idols and a leader of Pagan followers, and called herself QUEEN OF HEAVEN. She gave birth to Tammuz, Nimrod's son.

Tammuz eventually was killed by a wild boar and was raised from the dead, and hailed as a miraculously conceived son. A study of ancient Babylonian history will reveal the origin of Babylon, and will bring the true meaning of the picture of the mother and child, and the babe in her arms. This has no relationship with Mary, the virgin mother, Who brought the baby Jesus into the world.

The Bible gives very little in detail compared to the historical facts of the Babylonian teachings which most certainly does not characterize the Bible teachings of righteousness. Not only was the Queen of Heaven and her son Tammuz taught in early history, but it was brought in through the dispensations of time unto Rome.

It was through this teaching that Rome received much of her theories which is practiced today and added to church history, beliefs such as purgatory, purification after death, salvation by certain sacrifices, sprinkling with holy water etc: the offering of round cakes, and the burning of incense to the queen of heaven....

Jeremiah 7:18 "The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger."

Jeremiah 44:17-30

17.  But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers,our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

18.  But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

19.  And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and
poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her,and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

20.  Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the
women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,

21.  The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the
streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your
princes,and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember
them, and came it not into his mind?

22.  So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed;therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse,without an inhabitant,as at this day.

23.  Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.

24.  Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women,Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:
25.  Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand,saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

26. Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD,that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.

27.  Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.

28.  Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah,that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.

29.  And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

30.  Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.

By weaving this in with the priesthood, and the Old Testament, they came up with a mixture of Babylonian teachings and the Law of the priesthood. Although the Roman Church proclaims to be the descendant of Peter, their doctrines and history proves otherwise.

The theory that Mystery Babylon is the Catholic Church bears no scriptural evidence. Although history declares that the Roman church originated through mixed teachings of Pagan teachings and the Old Testament order, she has changed her order of faith from time to time, and is now accepting the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with tongues.

Believing is not the evidence of salvation,for Jesus says that we must be born of God's Spirit, which is the next step after believing.

Therefore, all that are born of the Spirit into the New Birth are eligible for salvation, providing they bear the fruits of the Spirit according to scripture.God is no respecter of persons,but He will not recognize any demonic action. Some, however, from all Christian faiths have penetrated beyond their rituals and ceremonies and have found God.

Genesis 11:1-9 declares the organizing of Babylon when the people joined together in an attempt to build a tower that would reach to heaven. Also, the teaching of Jezebel throughout the Bible brings much light in understanding Mystery Babylon's activities in these Last Days.

Genesis 11:1-9

1.  And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2.  And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that
they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3.  And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and
burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime
had they for mortar.

4.  And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5.  And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6.  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7.  Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

8.  So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9.  Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Although Mystery Babylon is considered a nation, She is also a many membered Body joined together with the sin of evil and corruption, and is referred to as a Woman. Mystery Babylon is shown to be a direct opposite to the Church of Purity.

To this end Satan has labored from the beginning of time, to break down morality. Jesus calls the attention to Spiritual immorality winding its way into the church through the spirit of Satan, and through the Woman Jezebel, Revelation 2:20-23.

The breaking down of the marriage, and the introduction of fornication is due to the immoral Satanic spirit which is presiding in the world now. In "this year", September, 1981, Satan is well along in progress, in creating His image in the great harlot which will soon develop into the fullness of Mystery Babylon.

Revelation 2:20-23

” Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols..And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not...Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds....And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.”

The revelation of Mystery Babylon, the great Mother of Harlots, was revealed to John after he was made to understand the Beast and False Prophet. The vials of the wrath of God were being poured out upon the earth and the fierceness of His wrath was being shown.

It is then that the "great City" will be divided into three parts, and the cities of the nation will fall, and great Babylon will come into remembrance before God, and He will give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

The "great City" referred to in this verse is the literal city of Jerusalem, which is given over to the Beast when the Church is taken out into the wilderness,
Revelation 12:6 and 14.

Revelation 12:6

“And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.”

Revelation 12:14

“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”

Mystery Babylon has run Her course for approximately three and one half years, and the seventh vial, the last plague of God's wrath is being released in the air.

Revelation 16:7 "And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven,from the throne, saying,It is done."

The pouring out of the vial in the air signifies that this great phenomenon is of a supernatural nature, directly from above. Thus, we understand that the revelation given unto John of the judgment of the Mother of Harlots, was to take place in the first stages of the seventh vial.

This vial will be released after the Beastly 3 1/2 year Reign and the resurrection of the righteous dead. Then judgment will be poured out upon the great Whore, and She will be destroyed with Fire in the sight of Her Lovers.

Revelation chapter 17:1"AND there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:"....

This definition of "many waters" is interpreted in the fifteenth verse as peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. This signifies that the multitudes of nations and peoples upon the earth were under the influence of the "great Whore", reigning under the demonic power of the Beast.

Verse 2 "With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication,and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."

They were intoxicated with Her sins; She sitteth upon the kings of the nations. They who have enjoyed all the sins of her fornication. She becomes a "mother" as a hen over Her chicks.The kings are gathered under Her wings to receive the comfort of Her Body and all the pleasures of Her merchandise.

The word "fornication" is not only used as in the sense of "SEX", but covers every nature of sin and the pleasure of sinful flesh. The 18th chapter itemizes a few of these sins.(Read Here)

The kings are the leaders of the nations, and receives all the delicacies given by the "mother of Harlots" and She controls the inhabitants of the earth, making them drunk with the wine, or the intoxicating influence of Her fornication.

Verse 3 “So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.”John, being carried away IN THE SPIRIT into the wilderness,(an isolated place of quietness) saw a woman set upon a SCARLET COLORED BEAST. Scarlet is a Biblical word which symbolizes sacredness.

This Beast, after rising out of the sea of humanity, became the most sacred person of all the earth, in demonic power and honor. He was worshiped as God on earth. Only those who were martyred stood true to the True God of heaven. The remaining people of the earth magnified the Beast because they were forced.

The Beast had seven heads, and upon His head was the names of blasphemy.This signifies the nature of the Beast and His hatred for God and His followers.Six of these heads signifies leaders, or kings of the past, who at one time ruled over the earth.

These heads are Biblically and historically shown to be the nations, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome, who once led and controlled the earth under the influence of the Satanic powers.

The seventh head is yet to come. He will rise up out of the sea of humanity as the Beast Who will reign for 31/2 years. The ten horns are ten kings or nations who will follow the Beast. These kings are spoken of as the Ten Kingdom Empire.

Verse 4 “And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:”

The Woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color.Purple SIGNIFIES PURITY.

This WOMAN is setting Herself up as sacred and pure in the sight of the Antichristal world. She is decked with gold, which signifies DEITY, and She is decked with all the precious stones overladen with jewels and silks of the world. She is Jezebel not only in disguise, but in reality. She is decked with all the finery of the world and with riches untold.

This is what the fleshly world lusts after and she has made Herself appropriate. All this is in opposition to the Bible teachings and duties of the God of righteousness, but She is lifting Herself up by counterfeiting God and His righteousness, to the ungodly fleshly world, who has lusted after Her majestic charm of sin.

In Her hand is held the golden cup full of abominations and filthiness of Her fornication. From this cup the wine of her fornication is drunk until Her influence overcomes the nations in drunkenness.

The sixth verse declares Mystery Babylon's past as well as Her future.She is drunken with the blood of the saints of the past,as well as those that will give their lives in martyrdoms while loving not their lives unto death, because of their testimony for Jesus, during the great Tribulation.

Verse 5 "And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.".....

She is the most abominable, corruptable, filthy, demonic, beastly filled Body of people with the poison of death that has ever been before, and She becomes the murderer of the souls of men.

Revelation chapter 17:6 "And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration."

Not only was the inhabitants drunk with the wine of Her fornication, but She Herself was drunk with the blood of the saints of Jesus. The drinking of the blood signifies the death of souls of the body. She had no power to kill the soul but She did have the power to kill the fleshly body in which the soul dwelt.

John saw this Beast as a leopard,with feet as strong as a bear,and a mouth as a mouth of a lion rise up out of the sea of humanity.And he saw "one of his heads as it were wounded to death;and his deadly wound was healed:and all the world wondered after the beast."

Revelation 13:3 ”And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast”.

Revelation chapter 17:9 "And here is the mind which hath WISDOM.".........   

Mystery Babylon is declared to be a Woman, a GREAT CITY which reigns over the kings of the earth. But there is need of wisdom to be able to understand this Beast with the seven heads and the ten horns and the Woman as the GREAT CITY. Not the wisdom of the world, but the wisdom gained by the Spirit of the Written Word of God. The seven heads are seven mountains or kingdoms on which the Woman sitteth.

After John saw the vision of the great Whore upon the scarlet beast, He was shown the mystery...

Revelation chapter 17:7-8 "And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns...The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, WHOSE NAMES WERE NOT WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast THAT WAS, and IS NOT, and YET IS."

Now we approach the mystery. Revelation 17 Verses 9-13 defines the beast with seven heads and ten horns which carried the mystery of iniquity throughout the Ages.

The seven heads are seven mountains, or seven kingdoms, on which the Woman, MYSTERY BABYLON, sitteth, or is carried throughout the Ages. These kings were given power of Satan, each to rule in His day.
Revelation 17: 9-13
 9.  And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are
      seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10.   And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11.   And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12.   And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13.   These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

The tenth verse says that five of these kings have come and gone, or are fallen, and one is, and the other has not yet come and when he comes he will continue a short space. The five kings that are fallen are the five world powers that ruled the world in sin the past ages. They are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and Greece.

The one that is, was Rome, who was then in power and the one that is not yet come is the beast of the future who will begin the beastly reign of 3 1/2 years. And the beast that was and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven. The beasts of all seven heads operate from the power of the Dragon. In reality it was not the kings that were ruling, but the Dragon operating through them. They were only instruments of the Devil.

The eighth beast is of the seven. He is the Antichrist which comes up out of the earth and upholds the seventh beast….Revelation 13:17 “ And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” 

The demon spirit which comes up out of the bottomless pit and becomes the head of all six nations has been dying out to the world but is still operating under the sixth head Rome, under which we are now living. This head is yet to suffer death by the Sword (the Word of God) but the head shall be healed and live again.

The death spoken of here is the death to power. The Roman spirit has been doing just that for the past three hundred years: This being in the days of Protestantism when the church began to come out from the rule of the Roman power. The head and power of these nations was not a man, but was Satan who was working through the fleshly kings.

The heads which John speaks of in Revelation 13:3 “ And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” are national demonically filled heads. One of the heads that was wounded unto death and was healed is Rome.

According to the scripture the demonic head of Rome,which has ruled the sinful nations will be brought to His knees and will be overcome by Christ and His Ministry in the Last Day before the Church is taken into the wilderness and then the demonic head will be revived, and lives again as the seventh ruler, the Beast of Revelation 13. (Read the chapter here)

The ten horns are ten kings who ruled their own kingdom and supported the political genius who is called the Beast that was to rise up out of the sea. All kingdoms were taken over by the Beast when He came into power.

The ten horns will come up with Him. It is these ten kings that the Dragon sends as a flood of water to swallow up the Woman Who was caught away into the wilderness, but the "eagle wing" power of God delivered the Woman and caused the earth to swallow up the armies.

God's Woman of Israel also was delivered by "eagle wing" power on her way to the wilderness, and God opened up the water of the Red sea and swallowed the armies of Pharaoh,

Revelation chapter 17:12"And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings,which have received no kingdom as yet;but receive power as kings one hour with the beast."No territorial kingdom will be given them but they will be accepted as kings for one hour.

Verses 13-14"These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast....These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them:for he is LORD OF lords, and KING of kings: and they that are with him are CALLED,and CHOSEN, and FAITHFUL."

The Chosen, and Faithful, are the Elect Saints, the Woman of Revelation 12:1.It is Those Who overcomes the ten kings by the power of "Eagle's wings",the strength of God.

Revelation 12:1 "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:"

The ten kings were given power for only one hour, and later turned against Mystery Babylon, the Woman, Who typifies the Wife of the Beast. The one hour, if spoken of in God's time, i.e. 1,000 years = one day, would be a lot longer period of time than our 60 minute hour. Just how long one hour is with God, we do not know, so if God is using His time we can only speculate as to how long it will be.

At the latter part of the Beastly Reign, the ten kings rise up against Mystery Babylon in hatred and destroy Her:
Revelation Chapter 17:15-18 "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues... And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.... For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled... And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

The one hour ministry of the ten kings is also spoken of in the destruction of the great Whore, Revelation 18:11,17,19.

Rev 18:11 "And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:"

Rev 18:17 “For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,”

Rev 18:19
"And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate"....

This takes place at the beginning of the seventh vial. Thus, the great Whore was judged in the flesh.Verse 18 "And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth."...

She is called a "great city" not the literal city of Jerusalem in which the kings of the earth will gather, but She is referred to as a many membered Body of people, even as the Church is shown to be a many membered Body of Christ. The difference between these Two is that the Church is filled with the Spirit of God, and Mystery Babylon is filled with the spirit of the Devil.

This 17th chapter is an outstanding record of both the corrupt religion, and the corrupt political system of the whole earth in the Last Days. Both are traced from the creation of the world, and both (corrupt religion, and political corruption) end in destruction.(Read Here)
